A TYPICAL SESSSION & FAQ'S
YOUR FIRST VISIT - REFLEXOLOGY
At the first treatment, a medical history and lifestyle consultation is taken.
This is to assess both past and present problems and gives an opportunity to chat with you about lifestyle choices, including diet, exercise and any stress factors in your life - stress being one of the main contributing factors for many of today's illnesses.
This is followed by an initial exploratory treatment, which usually takes 45 minutes to an hour, when a gentle massage to your feet is given to detect any areas of imbalance, disperse any energy blockages and aim to bring the body back to natural balance.
A course of treatment may be recommended depending on your body's needs.
Subsequent treatments last about 45 minutes to an hour and would begin with a short chat to assess how you felt immediately after your last treatment and how you have been since.
This information is vital as it shows how your body is responding to the therapy and also allows for any necessary adjustment to the subsequent treatment.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - REFLEXOLOGY
How many sessions will I need?
This depends entirely on the individual. A course of 4-6 sessions taken at weekly or fortnightly intervals may be needed as this helps to build up momentum and sustain results. Some people then like to have a course of monthly maintenance treatments. However, there are many factors to take into account before a treatment plan is formulated.
Will it be painful?
No, not at all. Sometimes areas of tenderness are felt, especially during an initial treatment, but mostly it is a pleasant sensation.
Does it tickle?
A treatment is usually found to be a relaxing and therapeutic experience and even those who feel they have sensitive feet find that it doesn't tickle.
Do I need to undress?
No, just shoes and socks are taken off.
Are there any reasons why I can't have Reflexology?
There are some reservations or contra-indications to Reflexology and this would be discussed with you prior to any treatment being given, along with aftercare advice should you have a Reflexology treatment.
YOUR FIRST SESSION - HYPNOTHERAPY
Prior to your first session I will send you forms and a questionnaire for you to complete and return to me, either electronically or in paper form on the day of your first session.
This initial consultation is primarily for information gathering and will also include a short relaxation at the end of the session in order for you to experience hypnosis for yourself.
The first session will usually last about 1 hour 15 mins. Subsequent sessions will take about 1 hour but I always ask you to allow a little longer as sometimes the session will last a little longer depending on the issues we are dealing with.

What does hypnosis feel like?
Hypnosis is a feeling of relaxation experienced at different levels, depending on the individual concerned. We experience hypnotic feelings on a day to day basis, when reading a book or maybe watching a TV programme that we become completely absorbed in, or when we become lost in thought or day-dreaming.
Will I be in control and aware of what is going on?
Yes, you are fully in control and aware at all times. If you choose to keep your eyes open that is fine, though most people find it more relaxing to close their eyes, and you will be aware of movement and noises both in the room and outside of the room at all times.
Your ability to make decisions about what you can and cannot do remains with you throughout the process.
What will I remember afterwards?
You will remember most of the sessions and any parts that you do not remember will be because your conscious or analytical mind stopped listening and allowed your sub-conscious mind to take over. This is a perfectly natural process and allows the session to become more effective.
What if I can't be hypnotised?
If you are able to follow instruction and are open to it you can be hypnotised. It is a misconception that the more intelligent a person is the less likely they are to be hypnotised. In fact the opposite is true!
How do you do it?
The simple answer to this is...I don't - you do. I simply guide you into a pleasant and deeply relaxed state and as you listen to my words this may help to facilitate any positive change you want to happen in your life. One of the resources I will teach you is self-hypnosis, and my guidance and instructions are simply the start of this process.
