It is estimated that 1 in 6 couples will experience fertility issues. Health and lifestyle factors, for both the male and female, can play a big part in this.

This is an extremely emotional time for couples which can lead to stress and anxiety.

Reflexology is a very calming and relaxing therapy and, over a period of time, may help in a number of ways as it could:

  • Help the body to relax and de-stress.
  • Balance hormone levels which could enable the reproductive system to function at it's optimum level.
  • Regulate the menstrual cycle.
  • Be beneficial for conditions such as endometriosis and PCOS.

I have been trained in specific reflexology techniques for fertility and maternity care through Jubilee College as part of my ongoing commitment to continually improve and update my skills.

Having regular reflexology treatments during the course of your pregnancy is a great way to help your body to relax and to prepare yourself for the arrival of your baby.

I have been trained in reflexology maternity care which enables me to treat clients all through their pregnancy. It is often thought that treatment is not possible during the first 12 weeks, but unless you have an history of miscarriage or unstable pregnancy, this is not always the case. I would always discuss this with you prior to commencement of any treatment.

During the course of your pregnancy you may find that you experience a variety of common complaints and reflexology may help you to manage these more effectively, such as:

  • Morning sickness
  • Constipation
  • Overactive bladder
  • High blood pressure
  • Painful breasts
  • Backache/painful ribs

If you find that you have gone over your due date a reflexology treatment is an excellent way to help you relax and release tension allowing your body to "let go" in a natural way.
